While we're wedding obsessed, we also love planning non-profit events, corporate affairs, AND over-the-top social gatherings! When we were approached to plan this special 50th bday party, we jumped at the opportunity to infuse some of the guest of honor's favorite things into an elegant celebration for 50 of his closest friends and family to enjoy.
I have had the pleasure of knowing the bride, Ashley, for years through mutual friends, so when she contacted us to plan an intimate reception in Denver celebrating her hometown Nebraska nuptials, of course I was thrilled to help!
To contrast her spring garden wedding in the midwest, we selected an urban, Denver venue in the month of November, along with a rich color palette featuring merlot against ivory, blush and peach, and lots of gold accents and candlelight. The design created a warm, inviting environment, and paired beautifully with a locally sourced, seasonally inspired menu, complete with a pie bar for dessert!
Everything came together so beautifully for this special evening! I LOVE that the bride opted to wear a non-traditional cocktail dress to complement the event. She owned her style and looked amazing in this Catherine Malandrino peplum number! Paired with a vintage fur, it was a classic, lovely, bridal look.
I hate to play favorites, but the First Annual Wylder Nation Foundation Living Like a Warrior Gala could very easily the best, most special organization & event to which I have ever contributed.
I have had the pleasure of knowing the Founders, Steven & Shannon Laffoon for over a decade, and the way they choose to live their lives, embodying the warrior spirit, is inspiring to say the very least. I am in awe of them- the mission, the love, and how they so perfectly honor the tragically short but powerful & significant life of their son, Wylder James.
I love to count my blessings daily- I am so fortunate. For a lot of reasons. Chief among them, I have amazing parents. Like seriously amazing humans who have taken care of me (read: put up with me) my entire life. They have helped me, supported me and loved me unconditionally. My heart swells and my face smiles when I think of them...
So naturally I am a sucker for pics like these:
